ProfiGrade is used to grade undried and dried timber. Most common grading criteria are wane, knots, resin pockets and different faults in shape or structure. ProfiGrade especially takes into account the faults in shape of timber pieces, which are most common with dried timber. The diagonal directing of the line-lasers and cameras makes it possible to calculate an accurate 3-dimensional model of the measured board or stud. From that model the grading program determines dimensions, the amount of wane, bow, spring and twist.
